cassie was trained as a printmaker but is drawn to ink, watercolor and collage.

collage is a misunderstood medium. collecting found paper, discarded paper, old magazines and books are an important part of the process. rescuing paper and using old materials to tell a story.

humans are storytellers.

using training in traditional printmaking, the layers of collage allow a multi-layered story to emerge.


cassie possesses nearly twenty years of experience in teaching the fine arts.

she has been an assistant teacher for undergraduate-level printmaking and art history coursework. she completed undergraduate-level coursework in contemporary history and art history theory.

she was a teaching artist for four years with creative action, an austin-area arts nonprofit, where she taught collage to school-aged children. cassie is trained in building large-scale puppets using traditional techniques as well as designing creative elements for ambulatory art installations, ranging from city-wide events to small parades.


cassie is currently pursuing watercolor collage, combining a love of works on paper with the multilayered stories made possible by collage.
